The Cabinet
In 18th-century France, a 'Cabinet' wasn't a piece of furniture; it was a private room for a monarch’s most trusted advisors and most intimate diversions.
Traveling through the Loire Valley, Mistress Claire had the fortune to be a guest in great 18th Century manor house. Exploring the estate, she stumbled across an abandoned library which had been locked off for generations. The memories of the room were blanketed in layers of dust as the dim light from the leaded glass window washed over the room and onto an ornate cabinet. Drawn to the delicate character of the carved wood piece, she gently turned it’s gold handle and pulled the door open. She found a menagerie of objects, iron and leather, rough and raw, a silk mask with its frayed ribbons hung from a peg, and a single book bound in dark leather lay under it all. Curious, Claire picked up the book and unbuckled its hard lock. In it, Mistress found great stories chronicling evenings where masks erased titles, ritual fed souls, and forbidden pleasures were for all to witness.
This lurid and dissipated diary became the inspiration for our 21st Century Cabinet.
Mistress Claire
Claire isn’t just a woman. Claire is an idea, a spirit, an attitude. She has lived connected to centuries past and whispers the truths of the 19th-century Salonnières who knew that the greatest art is not painted on canvas, but lived in the flesh.
Her 'cabinet' is a collection of human curiosities - the beautiful, the powerful, and the daring.
Unlock the cabinet, if you dare.
Only the selected few are allowed to open the Cabinet.
